The 21-year-old singer-songwriter-pianist explains the business sensibility associated with working professionally to support her passion.
“I know a lot of people who just do music and it’s the common story – they’re struggling financially. I just bought a new guitar and I want to buy a new keyboard. If I go and get a real career I can pay for all this stuff.”
Speaking after university from a Melbourne train station on her way home to Geelong, Losi demonstrates her determined work ethic and nose for business when it comes to her music.
After building up a supportive local following, Izzy Losi and the Auracles concluded last year with an overwhelmingly successful release of their first EP, Outlast the Storm and a music video for song Running.
The band produced the record with the help of Losi’s win of the inaugural Queenscliff Music Festival Perpetual Scholarship in 2011.
